[DARI MEJA MPP ASPIRASI]- 7
Disember 2012 - MPP UKM bersama wakil pemimpin pelajar UKM telah dijemput bagi
menghadiri program "An Evening With A Laureate" anjuran CESMED UKM.
Program yang dihadiri Penerima Anugerah Nobel Keamanan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad
Yunus merupakan satu detik yang berharga dan pemacu aspirasi kepada semua yang
hadir bersama pada majlis itu. Saya mewakili mahasiswa/i UKM merakamkan
setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada pihak CESMED UKM diatas kejayaan penganjuran
program ini. Kami di pihak kepimpinan pelajar UKM mendapat beberapa pengetahuan
mengenai misi yang dibawa oleh Prof. Muhammad Yunus, iaitu berteraskan
mikrokredit dan "social business". "Social business" ini
merupakan trademark kepada Prof. Muhammad Yunus untuk membawa idea ini ke seluruh
negara, iaitu berteraskan mencipta sesuatu peluang yang membawa keuntungan dan
membantu sesuatu masyarakat. Idea yang begitu mudah tetapi berbukti
keberkesanannya terhadap komuniti yang beliau telah menyumbangkan ideanya. Ini
merupakan selaras dengan dasar yang dibawa oleh saya dan rakan MPP UKM yang
lain, iaitu menerapkan pemikiran "Nobel Prominence Mindset",
"Blue Ocean Strategy" serta "Sustainable Development".
Disamping sesi makan malam, program ini turut diselitkan dengan pelancaran
"UKM-YUNUS Centre For Advancement of Social Business" yang merupakan
platform baru bagi warga UKM untuk melibatkan diri untuk penganjuran
aktiviti-aktiviti universiti. Oleh itu selaras dengan Universiti Penyelidikan,
warga UKM haruslah melihat kepada platform-platform yang telah disediakan oleh
pihak UKM untuk bersama membantu universiti menyumbang kepada dunia pendidikan
dan juga khidmat masyarakat. Di samping itu, pihak MPP UKM berkesempatan untuk
berkongsi idea dengan golongan pemikir universiti tempatan dan universiti luar
dari Jerman dan England mengenai gerakan sebenar mahasiswa yang bukan
semata-mata membuat aduan dan laporan, tetapi memikirkan resolusi dan
transformasi dalam mengangkat taraf mahasiswa kepada tahap yang membanggakan
masyarakat dan negara.

December 2012 - Student Representative of The National University Of Malaysia
(MPP UKM) and selected student leaders were invited to attend a program
organized by CESMED UKM called "An Evening With A Laureate". The main
guest of the program is the Nobel Peace Award recepient Professor Dr. Muhammad
Yunus who introduces the concept through microcredit to create economic and
social development from below. On behalf of UKM's students, we would like to
thank the organizer, CESMED UKM in making it a dream come true for us to meet a
Nobel Laureate. Throughout the dinner, we were given a little of bit
introduction on the efforts that Prof. Muhammad Yunus tries to bring to the
world which focuses on social development. In general undestanding, social
Development is the act of unlocking the method and ideology in making harmony
and oppurtunity to a community. It's a simple lines to understand but the
results are already proven by some of the country that follow the methods of
Prof. Muhammad Yunus. We MPP UKM take this as a great exposure as it is
something relates to our stand, upholding the "Nobel Prominence
Mindset", "Blue Ocean Strategy" along with "Sustainable
Development". Later in the program itself, there is a launch of the
UKM-YUNUS Centre For Advancement of Social Business, and it is a great
oppurtunty for UKM community to keep in touch with in making programs and
getting more understanding about social business itself. Knowing the true
meaning of Research University and how it actual contrubites to the country n
society, UKM community should think and work together with the univerisity and
contribute our effort in a larger and meaningful way. We also took the liberty
in meeting local and international university representative in discussing some
of the issues that relates on student's activity and movement and it is the
fact that we should be the thinkers and practisioners in making the good change
to the society and the country, not saying bad things and destroy the
community. Anyway, it's a pleasant evening and a good experience to be share
with others.
